Have you ever seen a horse defy gravity? 💚
Sometimes horses or other large animals have a hard time getting back up after a fall, injury, or becoming stuck in a tight space.
With a bit of “magic,” our Air Ops and Technical Rescue Truck (TRT) teams use a specialized harness to lift the animal and move it to a safe location. Our Technical Rescue Firefighters regularly train for rescues like these, continuing our mission of protecting lives "for good.”
With one of the busiest cooking days just a week away, make sure your holiday plans don’t turn into a kitchen emergency. 🔥🍽️

Rescued from the water’s edge.
Firefighters rescued an adult male stranded on a ledge above a channel in @BuenaParkCA this morning after he was swept more than a mile downstream in fast-moving water and managed to climb out.
A good Samaritan heard him calling for help and safely dropped a rope to keep him secure until crews arrived. Our firefighters, including swift water rescue resources pre-positioned for the weather event, quickly brought him to safety using the fire truck’s aerial ladder.
He was transported to the hospital in stable condition for evaluation.
Thank you to @BuenaParkPD for the assistance and the citizen who stepped in to help while keeping themselves safe.

We can’t wait to see all the great work Timber will do. Welcome to the OCFA family!
Storm could bring much needed rain but may also bring hazards.
In anticipation of a storm that could bring heavy rain as early as tonight into tomorrow morning, the OCFA is closely monitoring weather forecasts, and is up staffing resources, >>
including engines, swift water rescue units, helicopters, hand crews, dispatchers, and dozers.
Before it gets here, check your property to make sure drains are not blocked. Sand and bags can be found at select OCFA fire stations. Locations can be found on http://OCFA.org
Once it’s here, allow yourself plenty of time to get to your destination. Turn on headlights when you turn on your windshield wipers, and DO NOT drive through any body of water - it doesn’t take a lot to move your car.
