Grace Romero
Grace Romero is a Fire Communications Dispatcher with the Orange County Fire Authority, bringing 15 years of experience and dedication to serving her community. She began her career with the Santa Ana Fire Department before it transitioned to OCFA and has since become an exemplary first responder.
Born and raised in Orange County by her El Salvadorian parents, Grace is a first-generation American. She is bilingual in Spanish, enhancing her ability to serve a diverse community, and has been recognized with multiple awards for her exceptional work, including OCFA’s Lifesaving Medal, the First Responder Award from the Orange County Business Council, and the APCO Outstanding Performance by an Individual Award.
Grace recalls one of her proudest moments during a hostage situation, where she remained calm, communicated effectively with all parties, and helped ensure a safe outcome. She emphasizes the importance of her role as a dispatcher: “While we are the first point of contact, we are never seen. We work tirelessly day in and day out to protect and provide exceptional service to our community.”
Inspired by her father’s hard work and perseverance, Grace exemplifies dedication, professionalism, and service. Her commitment to public safety and the communities she serves makes her a valued member of OCFA.
